Perry Sky Jack is Coast Salish from the Lyackson First Nation which is located on Vancouver Island.
Perry as a young teen was enthralled with graffiti, honing his craft for a few years as a young graffiti artist and completed numerous murals around Vancouver, his mother Kat Norris seeing his love for art saw an opportunity to use his artistry in the digital form for a career choice, where he then got into this Union of Native Nations program called wiigit (new media studies) and spanaxnox (print technology), upon completion the instructors there hired Perry to work for their design agency – Indigenous Dynamics Plus to be their junior graphic designer.
Wanting to advance his design skill set further he successfully completed an intense one year Digital Design program with the world renowned Vancouver Film School where he earned his diploma.
To assist with freelancing as an aspiring digital designer, Perry completed the Turtle Island Entrepreneur Development Program, where Skylz Design was created (word play on ‘styles’ and middle name ‘sky’ – skylz). After freelancing for awhile and having his first child born (Serenity) he found a full-time position where he is currently working with the Wilderness Committee as their graphic designer where he produces a vast array of marketing materials for print and multimedia digital design.
Print design experience: logos, signage, posters, flyers, business cards, brochures, mailout packaging, banners, certificates, buttons, stickers, infographics, newspaper/magazine ads, custom cards, billboards, forms & online fillable pdf forms, reports, curriculum booklets, newspapers and calendars.
Web/social media design: memes, facebook/twitter/instagram banners/images, email template images, animated gifs and social media video animations with sound design. Crowdfunding campaign (Toad People) – various image designs for social media, website images, email and indiegogo, plus diagrams, posters, flyers, buttons and logo design.
